Boys High was located in Midtown’s current building on Charles Allen, and graduated its last class in 1947. The Boys’ High Alumni Association donated the assets of its foundation to Midtown (then Grady) in 2015, with the monies earmarked for efforts to support the school’s academic excellence and standing as one of most outstanding institutions of learning in Atlanta and Georgia.
Upon bequest, the Boy’s High Alumni Association funds were administered by the Community Foundation of Greater Atlanta. In 2025, the Community Foundation will begin a progressive transfer of the residual funds to the Midtown Foundation.
The Midtown Foundation is honored to safeguard these monies and has placed them in a restricted account, separate from the general foundation funds raised through parent donations each year. The Boy’s High Alumni Association funds are earmarked specifically for projects in the original spirit of the bequest – to ensure Midtown’s standing as an institution of academic excellence. In the past, these funds have supported student scholarships, and the pilot projects for the Math Center and Saturday School. The Math Center and Saturday School became regular flagship Foundation projects. Future projects proposed to be supported by the Boy’s High Alumni Association funds will be carefully vetted by the Foundation members and current Midtown administration for alignment with the original spirit of the bequest and the project’s potential for transformative impact on Midtown students.
