Our funding pillars include academic support, student achievement, building enhancements and technology, and teacher professional development. Flagship programs fully funded through foundation support include:

ACADEMIC SUPPORT

  • Saturday School allows students to make up missing work, and/or get extra help from their teachers or peer tutors.
  • The Math Center provides after school teacher-led math tutoring open to all students.
  • SAT preparation is offered to all juniors and includes training sessions and practice tests with iterative feedback.
  • Ninth grade onboarding program supports freshman to adopt study skills and school navigation savvy that sets them up for success as they begin high school.

STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT

  • Community Days are concentrated opportunities for students to
    participate in meaningful community service that fulfills graduation requirements.
  • Mental Health First Aid certification and training, a train-the-trainer program, has reached hundreds of students with teen mental health support skills.
  • The Opportunity Fund supports student participation in enrichment activities that would be otherwise inaccessible due to out-of-pocket costs.

BUILDING ENHANCEMENTS & TECHNOLOGY

A welcoming physical space and high-impact educational technology and software for our students are critical are critical, so the Midtown Foundation invests in building enhancements and technology that optimize teaching, learning, and the student experience.

TEACHER PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
The Foundation sponsors innovative learning opportunities for teachers, including educator conferences and continuing educational opportunities that foster a professional culture of continuous development.

Our Mission

Founded in 1997,  the Midtown High School Foundation supports the education and preparation for life of all students at Midtown High School; encourages creative, caring, and energetic faculty and staff; enhances the school’s physical setting and creates a community asset that fosters student development; and provides a conduit for friends to express their support for Midtown High School.

The Foundation also provides stewardship for a generous bequest from the Boys High Alumni Association.
