Thanks to the generous gifts to the Foundation, administrators hold ten Saturday School sessions each academic year. Happening from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, roughly once per month, Saturday School allows students to get extra help from teachers or peer tutors, make up missing work, or attend specialty sessions like AP practice exams or Biology Milestones Bootcamp.
Quick facts:
- Since 2022, 3,175 students have attended a Saturday School session
- 85% of students surveyed in 2024-2025 reported that they were able to complete the work they came to complete
- 90% of students surveyed in 2024-2025 said that they used their Saturday School time productively
Saturday school is part of a comprehensive system to support learners at Midtown High School, but also feeds into a deeper strategy for building diversity and inclusion in Honors and Advance Placement classes. A recent (December 2025) Atlanta Journal and Constitution article documents how Saturday School helped nearly triple the number of African American students at Midtown earning college credit through Advanced Placement classes.
